Mugisa Dan Byenkya

Dan is a development worker with three years’ experience doing community based development. He has carried out community based research in the local villages of Uganda on the ‘viability of micro projects in improving household welfare’ in Lyantonde – Uganda and a KAPs study on the ‘peoples understanding and utilization of community based projects in addressing poverty’ in Budondo Sub County Jinja district - Uganda. Dan volunteered at the Foundation for Sustainable Development (FSD Jinja) an experience that exposed him to intense community work prior to founding FOCUSED and working as the program coordinator at FOCUSED organization. During his volunteering experience, he worked with the FSD site team staff giving support to FSD summer Volunteers to establish and maintain working relationships with FSD partner organizations; to integrate into local community (cross culture emersion) and assisting volunteers to come-up with productive development projects that were beneficial to their learning process and to the communities they worked with. Dan’s life Goal is to contribute to poverty reduction as poverty is the greatest shared common global problem which hinders societal growth and development. His focus is community based project processes as a tool of addressing poverty related problems and increasing positive social, economic and environment impacts in communities. Mugisa Dan Byenkya holds a Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies from Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST). Besides development work, he is passionate about website and graphics design, documentary filming,  photography, traveling and meeting new people, hanging out with friends, singing, playing a guitar, watching movies, listening to music and reading lots of literature.  

Maghambu Scovia

Scovia holds a diploma in Business administration from Ruwenzori College of commerce. She undertook a training with Cobaco limited and attained a certificate of hostmanship , “the art of making people feel comfortable.” For three years, Scovia worked as a supervisor and partly as a secretary at Ruwenzori Agriculture Diversification Organization (RWADIPO) which teaches people how to grow crops and keeping animals for commercial purposes.

Eng. Tumwebaze Alex

Alex is a computer Engineer, an Information and Technology and graphics designer Specialist with more than 3 years of experience working with different Non-Governmental Organizations and with Government at Kasese district local government. Alex has worked as website designer and database management system programmer for various company providing IT solutions and helpdesk at Mbarara University of Science and technology. He designed and Auto-mated water level detecting system with SMS with an LCD screen to reduces abrupt shortage of water and alerting the customers and the people in charge about the abrupt. Alex holds a Bachelors degree of computer engineering from Mbarara University of Science and technology, western Uganda. He holds a certificate of computer security from Queens Technologies Uganda and a certificate in Google Academy from Google
